Partner been refered to a fertility specialist. what can we expect? x?

my partner and i have been trying for a baby for 15 months now. we went to our local doctor and had tests and it turns out my partner has got 'immunological infertility' this has been explained to us as, he has good sperm around 40% but it is the actual semen that's the problem, it has got anti bodies in it that are attacking the sperm so stopping them from reaching the egg. anybody heard of this before? we have been refer ed to a fertility specialist on the NHS but have decided to pay for the first consultation and be seen sooner for piece of mind (appointment is 2nd jan) does anybody know what will happen at this consultation? we have heard that for my partners problem it is likely he will be put on steroids x
