Q. wmp sucks. please tell of the best freeware download to rip and burn music from my cds and files on hd?

have no trouble downloading from limewire and burning. but i tried to copy a cd last night and i did the rip and tried the burn with wmp and the sucker kept rejecting the cd that was wmd or wmp or whatever. it is an comedy album actually not music and the end, i think, was with a w. is that what is wrong. i can rip and burn movies until the cows come home but never wanted to copy a music cd before. i want some software that enables me to rip individuals songs if that is possible. i am not into itunes and all that. never listen to music away from home.
