Question about my freshwater fishing setup?

it is an ugly stick 7 foot medium action pole with a synergy 5-2-1 ratio spinning reel. im 17 and starting to become a even bigger fisherman by learning all the tequniques. im also trying swimbaits is this setup ok for them. any tips?
