Is this the beginning of 'The Day After Tomorrow??'?

Okay..we have the sudden and odd bulk of snow in the UK where i am from. The UK has hardly seen anything like this and lets just say the whole of the UK has hardly been to work for a week or school. Now in Austrailia some extraordinary wildfires!!!!!! Is global warming in overdrive???
