Is it possible that Al Sharpton is mistaken about the "stimulus monkey"?

Sharpton wants the federal government to force censorship on the NY Post.. But isn't it possible that the "stimulus monkey" cartoon was referring to the chimp in Connecticut that was shot by 2 police officers after mauling a woman's face off???
